Sheikh Rehana turns 67 Monday

Sheikh Rehana is the younger daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and turns 67 this Monday.

Sheikh Rehana was born at Tungipara, Gopalganj district, on September 13, 1955. Sheikh Rehana has been the third child of Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibur Rahman (Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib).

Because Sheikh Rehana is currently in London, there won't be a formal program for her birthday in Dhaka.

Sheikh Rehana was married to Professor Shafique Ahmed Siddique, and they have two children: a son (and two daughters).

Radwan Mujib Siddique, their son, is an international organization trustee and is also a trustee for the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) of Awami League. Their daughter Tulip Siddique, a Labour Party MP in British Parliament is Azmina Siddique Rupani who is Global Risks Analysis Editor at London-based Control Risks.

Bangabandhu's entire household, including his two daughters, was brutally murdered by disgruntled soldiers on the fateful night August 15, 1975.

His daughters, Sheikh Rehana and Sheikh Hasina, the incumbent Prime Minister, survived the massacre while they were visiting West Germany at the time.

Sheikh Rehana is known to everyone as "Chhoto Apa". Her father Bangabandhu passed on a simple lifestyle to her. On her birthday, thousands of social media followers extended warm greetings and compliments to Sheikh Rehana.
